It is known that in internal combustion engines the engine is heated by burning the fuel. To ensure the smooth operation of the engine, the heat generated by the combustion engine is removed by the engine cooling system. One of the pivotal components of this system is the radiator through which the thermal energy of the engine is transmitted through the cooling fluid to the surrounding environment. As a result the greater the amount of thermal energy it is lost. Our goal is to turn the lost heat energy into electrical energy and use it purposefully. We have created a device that uses thermocouples to convert excess thermal energy from the engine to electric power and return to the machine for other work needs, thereby reducing the fuel consumption, as well as by not harming the surrounding environment, and without affecting global warming.
The technology can be installed on any power-operated internal combustion engine. These are cars (especially hybrid), diesel engines, heaters, ships...
We have carried out research and experimental phases as an invention (Patent No. 3271-A of the Intellectual Property Agency of Armenia).
With our designed device, it is possible to turn heat that is useless out of ships into large quantities of electricity and to meet the other needs of the ship (lighting, refrigerators). Depending on the ships, the construction feature of each boat may increase the capacity of our device to a dozen kilowatt.
